WhatsApp vs. Usermesh
Contenders Ready
We all use WhatsApp or similar apps. We use with our friends. Our families. But WhatsApp is a chat application. What you need is a broadcast medium.
WhatsApp Is Bad For Your Club
Unbiased opinion
WhatsApp is great for lots of things. We use it ourselves. But we've also experienced the horror of clubs that use it to keep members informed.
Privacy Invasion
- Gives away group size and members.
- All members can see phone numbers.
- Owned by Meta. Creeeepy.
Random Chatter
- Two-way comms get in the way.
- Unwanted replies and questions.
- Untrackable "I'm coming" for large groups.
No Structure
- Just keeps scrolling off screen.
- Can't link somebody to resources.
- Limited sharing options.
The Solution is Here
Easy for you. Easy for your group.
Technology doesn't have to be so complicated. We're here to make your life easier, not give you more things to worry about.
Everything on One Page
Boards are the main element in your mesh. Cover them with the information your group needs. One central place that serves to keep your group informed.
Every Member Reached
Unlike social media, we don't hide updates from your members. Every post, every photo, every event - in your mesh when they need it. No algorithms, just a list.
Who's Coming and When
Create your events, add locations, drop a pin on a map, set the times, make them repeat every week. Then gather responses of who is coming, who they're bringing, or limit the numbers you allow.
Seen by the Right People
For larger groups, split your members down into segments. Beginners, Seniors, Advanced, Teenagers - your choice. Limit access to content based on which type of member is accessing it.
Invited and Private
All meshes are invitation only. Add your members using just their email address and no account for them to create. Other members don't get a copy of everyone's details.
No Ads or Trackers
We're not try to sell you anything else, or sell your information to others. We don't have any ads, we're not spying on you or your members. What are you giving up when another tool says it's "free"?

Let's Break It Down
It's very simple. WhatsApp is not a broadcast medium. And do you trust Mark Zuckerburg?

Frequently Asked Questions
You have questions, we have answers. If there's a question you have that's not answered here, email us - [email protected].
What's a mesh?
A mesh is a private space for your club or group. It is a collection of boards, posts, events, files and other content you decide to fill it with. It has a URL on the internet, and you share it with your members.
How easy is it to build a board?
Usermesh boards are deliberately basic. They start as two columns, each of which contains one or more cards. Cards are blocks of text, links to other websites, images, YouTube videos etc. On our paid plans, these can also be maps and images.
Add the cards to a column, add your content, position them as needed, and you’re done.
If you want to go further, you can add further sections with between 1 and 4 columns, and also customise your colours and upload your logo.
Most boards can be built in less than 10 minutes.
What's a member?
A member is somebody who has access to your mesh and all the content within it. You add them via their email address, and they can then access everything without needing to sign up for an account, create a password or download any apps.
You can easily remove members at any time and they’ll instantly lose access.
What's a leader?
A leader is someone who has access to manage the content on a board. When you create a board, you are the owner and the initial leader. But you can invite other Usermesh users to come help you be a leader on a board too.
Owners and leaders log in to the Usermesh administration system to look after their meshes and the content within.
How does billing work?
Billing is managed through the Account area of the application. You can manage your details, card information and plans through that, including cancellation.
All our automated billing is managed by Lemon Squeezy. They’ll send you an email every month before and after your card is charged (or every year, if you choose to pay annually).
You can pay monthly, or pay annually. If you pay annually, you get get 2 months free. We accept all major credit and debit cards.
How do I try the paid features before I buy?
If you use the discount code FREEMONTH you can get your first month of any monthly subscription plan free. That will let you unlock and test all the features only available on paid plans.
If you don’t like it, cancel before your next billing period.
What if I need support?
You can either check out our documentation site. Or if you still have questions, just emails us – [email protected].
No robot, no AI, just a genuine human who will do their best to help.
Is my data secure?
Yes! We are GDPR compliant and minimise the amount of personal data we store about you or your members. At most we know their names and email addresses, but don’t take any other personal information. In fact, one Usermesh benefit over using something like a WhatsApp group is your members don’t get the phone number of every other member!
All data is stored securely in Amsterdam and London. You can read more about our security practices.
I have more questions...
